Safe & Sustainable

Our food-focused farmers market is more than an event so during the pandemic, we have decided to remain open in order to provide a local, safe and sustainable option for groceries. Chestnut Street will NOT be closed. Customers should find free parking along Chestnut Street as well as in the nearby pay to park Finley Republic lot. The Chattanooga Brewing Parking lot will not be available to customers as vendors will be occupying it.

We have referenced the Farmers Market Coalition as well as the CDC for guidance on how to continue our operation safely. That being said, we are taking all the precautions necessary to create a positive grocery shopping experience during these trying times and ask that shoppers do not browse.

WE ENCOURAGE PREORDER AND PREPAYING IF POSSIBLE. REFERENCE OUR SHOP FOR A LIST OF VENDORS WHO ARE ATTENDING, WHAT WILL BE AVAILABLE AND LINKS TO PLACE THOSE ORDERS.

We will have gloves available at the Main St Farmers Market info booth for customers to use while shopping. Also at the info booth, will be hand sanitizer and it will be available at each individual vendor’s booth. There will be no samples available.

The vendor booths will be spread out and we ask that ONLY ONE CUSTOMER ENTER THE BOOTH AT A TIME.

For our SNAP customers, we will gift $10 to spend when you show your card at the market info booth. Our non-profit mission is “to inspire healthy, environmentally responsible lifestyles by fostering relationships within the local food community” so we rarely have crafts. However we do have some items that enhance your dining experience, such as homemade mugs or upcycled napkins, or that are created from farm products such as Ada’s Heritage goat milk soap, shampoo and deodorant. Sustainability and sourcing locally are two key ingredients we look for in all our market products. As long as the goats keep milking, these luxurious yet much needed items will never run out.

At the end of the market, we are planning on donating food to a local organization so that our time together will benefit more than those who attend our market. Our hours and mode of shopping may change over the weeks as we are all adapting so we thank you for your patience and patronage.
